For Aeronautical Engineering Mechanical: Candidates need a minimum of 60% marks in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level and a 4-year engineering/technology degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent.
AFCAT Ground Duty Non Technical Administration and Logistics Candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks.
Physical Eligibility: Male – 157.5 CMS, Female – 152 CM
Accounts Candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com) with at least 60% marks.

NCC Special Entry Flying Candidates must hold an NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate, along with other requirements as per the Flying Branch Eligibility.
Meteorology Entry Meteorology Candidates need 60% marks in 12th-grade Math and Physics or a BSc with the same score in Physics and Math, or a 60% mark in an Engineering/Technology graduation.


Age Limit (01/01/2025)

If you’re interested in the Flying Branch, you should be between 20 and 24 years old, born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005.

For Ground Duty roles (both Technical and Non-Technical), you can apply if you’re between 20 and 26 years old, born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2005.

AFCAT Recruitment Batch 2024 Exam: Selection Process

The Indian Air Force will send letters to candidates who pass the AFCAT 2 2024 exam, inviting them for the next step, called AFSB Testing. This testing has two parts:

  1. Stage 1: Here, candidates do tests like Officer Intelligence Rating and Picture Perception and Discussion. If they don’t pass this stage, they can’t move to the next one.
  2. Stage 2: This part is more detailed. Candidates face:
  3. Psychological Tests: Psychologists check their minds through written tests.
  4. Group Tests: Candidates do both mental and physical tasks.
  5. AFSB Interview: An officer talks with candidates to see if they’re fit for the Air Force. Those aiming for the Flying Branch also take the CPSS Test.

After passing both stages, candidates do a Medical Examination. If they clear everything, they get a spot in the Indian Air Force based on their performance in the exam and interviews. Then, they receive letters to join training.
