NTA UGC NET June Exam 2024: Eligibility
Qualifying Examination
- For UR/UR-EWS candidates: You need at least 55% marks in your Master’s Degree or its equivalent from UGC-recognized universities/institutions.
OR
- If you passed the NET with a four-year undergrad degree, you can apply for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Ph.D., but not for Assistant Professor. You must have scored at least 75% overall in your undergrad degree.
Note : If you’re from SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), you get a 5% mark relaxation.
Age Limit
You must be under 30 years old on June 1, 2024, to apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions. But there’s no age limit for Assistant Professor roles or for enrolling in a PhD program.

- Visit https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Register as a new user or log in.
- Fill in your Application Number, Password, and Security Pin.
- Choose your Exam Centre and preferred language.
- Provide personal information like your Aadhar card number, gender, category, and employment and qualification status.
- Share your education details including your recent qualification and percentage.
- Provide your contact information: address, phone number, and email.
- Upload Photo and Signature with white background (JPG/JPEG format).
- Pay for the exam online or offline.
