The Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL), a wholly-owned public sector general insurance company under the Government of India, has officially released the OICL AO Scale-I Recruitment 2025 notification for 300 Administrative Officer posts.

Out of the total vacancies, 285 posts are for Generalist Officers and 15 posts are for Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers.

Earlier, the registrations were scheduled to begin on 1 December 2025. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, OICL has revised the application schedule. Now, the online registration and fee payment process will start from 3 December 2025 at 6:30 PM and continue till 18 December 2025 (midnight).

OICL AO Scale-I Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Candidates must be:

  • A citizen of India, or

  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or

  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or

  • A person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries

Such candidates must possess a valid eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification (as on 30 November 2025)

For Generalist Officer:

  • Graduation or Post Graduation in any discipline

  • Minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates)

For Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officer:

  • Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or

  • Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or

  • Master’s Degree in any subject with Hindi or English as medium and the other language as compulsory or elective

  • Minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates)

Age Limit (as on 30 November 2025)

  • Minimum age: 21 years

  • Maximum age: 30 years

Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules, including up to 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.

OICL AO Scale-I Recruitment 2025: Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates will be appointed in Scale-I cadre and will receive the following pay structure:

  • Basic Pay: ₹50,925

  • Pay Scale: ₹50,925–2500(14)–₹85,925–2710(4)–₹96,765

  • Approximate Gross Monthly Salary: ₹85,000 in metropolitan cities

OICL AO Scale-I Recruitment 2025: Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted in three phases:

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

  • Computer-based test

  • Total marks: 100

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude

Phase II: Main Examination

For Generalist Officers:

  • Objective Test: 200 marks

  • Descriptive Test (English): 30 marks

  • Total duration: 180 minutes

For Hindi Officers:

  • Objective Test: 200 marks

  • Descriptive Test (Hindi and English): 50 marks

  • Total duration: 180 minutes

Phase III: Interview

  • Final selection weightage:

    • Main Exam: 80%

    • Interview: 20%

  • Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined performance.
