The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Excise and Taxation Inspectors. A total of 197 vacancies have been announced under this recruitment drive. Educational Qualification

Selection Process for PSSSB Excise Inspector Recruitment

The selection process consists of two stages: a written examination and a typing test. There will be no interview.

Written Examination

The written test will carry a total of 100 marks and will be conducted in offline mode. The duration of the exam will be two hours. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

The question paper will include the following subjects:

  • Computer Basics

  • Punjabi Language

  • English Language

Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the typing test as the next stage of the recruitment process.

Salary for PSSSB Excise and Taxation Inspector

Selected candidates will receive salary as per the 7th Central Pay Commission guidelines. The starting basic pay is Rs 35,400 per month. In addition to the basic pay, employees will also receive other government allowances as applicable.

The application fee varies depending on the candidate’s category.

  • General category: Rs 1000

  • SC, ST and EWS candidates: Rs 250

  • Ex-servicemen and their dependents: Rs 200

  • Persons with disabilities: Rs 500
